I am a qualified
freelance translator specializing in English-Greek and French-Greek
translations in the fields of medicine,
medical instrumentation, automotive industry, mechanical engineering,
electrical engineering and in other fields of technology
as well as business. I am a native Greek speaker living in Greece,
I have a Bachelor
in Translation (Ionian University,
Corfu, Greece) and I am ATA
associate member.
Experience
and Services
Being in translation business
since 1990, I have worked as in-house,
part-time and full-time translator and cooperated with various
agents, publishers, as well as individual customers offering
Greek translations of high quality. Since 1996, I work as a full-time
freelance translator.
High quality translations, on-time delivery and competitive prices
are the milestones of the services I provide to my clients. My
translations are always proofread by a second person before delivery.
Upon request, my
translations can be certified
by a collaborating lawyer, and delivered by courier service or
priority mail. In addition to medical and technical translation,
I have substantial experience in proofreading, editing and subediting/copyediting technical
and medical texts. I have also considerable experience in setting
Greek texts using DTP software for Mac and PC.

Resources
and Tools
The availability of specialized
resources including a big number of
specialized dictionaries, extensive reference material and a
big volume of previous projects in the form of Translation Memory
Databases ensures precision and accuracy in terminology. I use
the two most popular translation memory packages (Deja Vu 3 and X and
Trados 6) with over 150,000 pairs of translation units and similar amount of terminology units. I also use WordFast 5 which is a full translation memory package for Macintosh. This greatly enhances productivity, assures terminology consistency and facilitates collaboration with most clients.
The computer platform
will also not create any problem in our cooperation.
I have available both IBM compatible
and Apple
Macintosh computers along
with some of the most popular word processors, DTP programs and
software for reliable Mac/PC Greek file conversions.
